Daily Mail Sun 27th April 2008
Kate and Gerry McCann are to write a book about their 'year of hell'
without missing daughter Madeleine, it was revealed yesterday.
The couple could make up to £1million in a deal for a tell-all memoir
about Madeleine's disappearance and their eight months as police
suspects.
Several publishers have approached them amid intense interest in the
year-long case, sparking the possibility of a bidding frenzy for the
book.
The couple's spokesman Clarence Mitchell said they wanted to raise
money for the dwindling Find Madeleine appeal fund, and to counter a
campaign of smears from inside the police investigation.
Last week it emerged that the former head of the Madeleine
investigation, Goncalo Amaral, has written a book about the case, with
the working title 'The Truth of the Lie'.
Insiders said it would contain explosive details about the police
inquiry and the decision to name the McCanns as suspects, or
arguidos.
Mr Mitchell confirmed that Mr McCann, 39, had met with one publishing
house and had been approached by several others.
He insisted any money raised by a book would go to the Find Madeleine
fund, and not to the McCanns themselves.
Mr Mitchell said: 'A number of publishers have approached us, as have
some authors, but no deal has been done.
'The idea of writing an official book at some point is appealing. It's
a legitimate way of raising money for the fund but would also give
them a chance to put across their side of the story, and to talk about
some of the wider issues.'
The McCanns have considered a series of lucrative deals to fund their
continuing search for their missing daughter, who disappeared from
their holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, almost a year ago.
Madeleine, then three, was left alone with her two-year-old twin
brother and sister while their parents went out for dinner nearby with
friends.
They suffered a public backlash after it emerged that their
representatives had begun negotiations with the world's largest
entertainment agency, IMG, over selling the film rights to their
story, and discussed bids from Oprah Winfrey and Barbara Walters in
the U.S. for their first major chatshow appearance.
Mr and Mrs McCann, of Rothley, Leicestershire, remain desperate to
raise money for the Find Madeleine fund amid fears that the
£1.2million raised from public donations will run out within months.
The independent television production company Mentorn Media made a
£10,000 donation to the fund in return for the couple's cooperation
with a two-hour documentary, due to be shown on ITV1 on Wednesday
night.
In the film Mrs McCann, 40, spoke of her renewed hope that her oldest
daughter was still alive but admitted that on some days she was
'desperate' and considered giving up.
She said: 'You have days when you're so down and desperate and tired,
you think you've got to switch off and I think, okay, we've tried
really hard and we've come up with nothing and now we need to make the
best of what we've got.
'(But) we're never going to hit that day. It doesn't matter how small
the possibility is (of Madeleine being found alive), the possibility
is still there.'
She added: 'There were many moments where we hit rock bottom and
sobbed, wondering how we could survive without knowing where our
little girl was.
'It is pure torture to deal with and it has been a long year of hell.
But what keeps us going is our overwhelming faith that Madeleine is
alive and will come home.'
Mrs McCann, a former GP, told how her twins Sean and Amelie, now
three, used their toy phones to try to 'call' Madeleine and play games
where they try to find her.
Mr Mitchell said the couple were 'daunted' by the approaching
anniversary on Saturday and the publicity surrounding it, but wanted
to use it as a chance to 're-energise' the search for their missing
daughter.
He said their detective agency Metodo 3 continued to receive leads
from all over the world and the McCanns were still inundated with
letters of support.
Mr Mitchell refused to comment on reports they had received death
threats to their home but said they had contacted police over two
letters.
He said: 'The vast majority is supportive, or at least polite, but
very occasionally there is something nasty. On two occasions we have
had to refer it to the police, but I don't want to go into any detail
about that.'
A book about the couple's ordeal could raise £1million for the Find
Madeleine fund, according to the former head of buying for
Waterstone's, Scott Pack.
He said: 'It could go for a million. There is a feeling that we know
everything there is to know about this story but the public are still
fascinated.
'It has the potential to be of enormous interest with buyers across
the market, from the literary middle class audience who think "This
could have been us" to the mass market who buy books in supermarkets
and have been devouring this story for a year.'
But publisher Patrick Jenson-Smith said it could be difficult to sell
'a story without a conclusion'.
Books by Sara Payne, the mother of murdered schoolgirl Sarah Payne,
and Kevin Wells, the father of Soham murder victim Holly Wells, both
dominated the bestsellers lists in Britain for months.
A series of books about the year-long hunt for Madeleine, written by
journalists, criminologist and policemen, have already proved popular
in Portugal.

McCanns to write a book
http://www.mccannfiles.com/id232.html
Madeleine's small body to be sold once again by her parents. Well at least it tells me one thing, donations from the gullible public have not rolled in , their open letter to their celeb pals, have not coughed up and Brian Kennedy to pay for all costs until Madeleine has been found seems to have hit a glitch. The McCanns are going to write 'their truth' which will be page upon page of lies. I am curious as to why Sky have pulled their tweet though, promoting the parents book, who by the skin of their teeth have not been charged, maybe they had a momets thought for Madeleine. I doubt it but it would be nice to think someone, somewhere, had a thought for her apart from us bloggers. Another very sad day.

The victims of evil parents.
The Elizabeth Smart trial in full flow and the Smarts daughters telling their 'story' . This week however, while Elizabeths mother was giving her testimony, she slipped up, Katherine, Elizabeths sibling , (another Jane Tanner, who has future 'memory recall' ) first claimed Elizabeths abductor had a gun, she later switched this to a knife. Elizabeths mother said her daughter was abducted at 'gunpoint' for a 'split second' she forgot her lines, or should that be her lies? and went back to the 'original' story. The defence for Mitchell , if they really were defending their client , which they are not, would have jumped all over this...instead, they let it pass.If the McCanns accidentally harmed Madeleine, then they have fooled people all over the world – including celebrities, big donors and the pope – in pleading their case to help, to donate millions of dollars, to pray for them.
Ed Smart has turned his daughters into pathalogical liars and the McCanns are following suit with their two small children.

Gerry McCann is completely insane.
How long before the twins make their first public appearance on GMTV? will Social services let these children ,who are being brainwashed by their parents become part of the circus ?. If Sean stood up in class and said he had two sisters he was told to do so by his parents.Kate McCann when shown at home with the twins (part of the Oprah 'circus' ) had to ask the children what was the name she had painted along with theirs, they, after prompting by their mother said Maddie, Kate, quickly speaking over their words said Madeleine. I have a dreadful feeling Sean and Emily very soon will become minature Kate and Gerry repeating the mantra ' there is no evidence our sister has come to any harm, Goncalo Amaral is a bad man who says our sister is dead.'
My very worst scenario, the McCanns will brainwash the children to such a degree they will have 'memory recall' and be' used 'in the most evil of way's to tell the public they remember a man in the apartment who took Madeleine.
The McCanns have shown they are capable of anything and I believe this will be the next stage to 'prove' their innocence. This is a very worrying and disturbing change of events.
Quote
Maddies grandmother made a healthy comment and what would be a normal reaction from a small child. Children forget. Taken from one of the deleted Express articles.
“It is heart-breaking,” says Gerry’s mother Eileen. “The three children were bathed together every night and always had lots of fun. The twins ask for Madeleine and Kate reminds them that she’s still missing. Then they get back to splashing each other and they forget about Madeleine.”

We will tell them we were having dinner in the restaurant next door.
Madeleine Beth would ask...... why mummy ,why ?.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLub-apsqWc&feature=related
Madeleine Beth knows the truth and knows her mothers words 'she will be giving them her tuppence worth' could not be true, because Madeleine was already dead. Kate McCann, May 4th, after she had given her statement prompting police to look for an abductor with 'long hair and wearing jeans' but please to confirm with her friend Jane Tanner . Jane, who had already given her statement before Kate. Kate mentions this in case her friend Jane had not (Jane did not mention jeans, she said beige trousers), it appears there was little trust after the dramatic nights events of hiding Madeleines body.
Kate McCann also told of the 'toys on Madeleines bed' this does not 'gel' with cuddle cat being on a high shelf, or Gerry saying Cuddle Cat was on the bed. Toys what toys? (At this point it would not be known their statements would ever be released to the public, so yes I believe 'toys', CC was just a prop)
The missing blue bag contains 'the jeans in question' of this I have no doubt.
Madeleine, would have no interest in my thoughts. Madeleine would only wonder at the moment of her death why, mummy why?. Speaking as a mother Madeleine, I have no answer to your question because my question is the same as yours why Kate, why? I cannot imagine not having a death certificate confirming the death of my child, I would have to look at it each day to tell me it is so, otherwise I would go quietly insane.
Jane Tanner has long hair and Jane Tanner insists she did not take jeans with her to PDL. Kate told social worker Yvonne Warren ,Madeleine was 'taken by a couple'.
It is obvious from the police statements Jane Tanner and her partner Russell O'Brien were/are the accomplices who helped move Madeleines body from apartment 5a, the rest lied to help their pals.
The question has to be asked if the worst came to the worst ,would the McCanns have implicated their friends Tanner and O'Brian as' the couple' who took Madeleine? Jane Tanner and her bizarre 'memory recall' suggests this as a very strong possibilty.
The missing blue bag contains 'the jeans in question' of this I have no doubt.
Madeleine had a sleep problem, this has been confirmed by the 'star chart' placed on the fridge in Rothley.
Speaking as a mother, who could possibly mind when their three year old , disturbed from sleep, wanting a cuddle from their mommy and daddy . I cannot understand a 'star chart' for a three year old and for me the thought is 'delicious' to have my daughter snuggled in between my husband and I smelling of all things 'baby'. My child , born out of love. The McCanns children are not born from love making, maybe the key to them being able to distance themselves from Madeleine and using the twins as props.
Collusion for beginners
THE KILLER TIMELINES
Three people are known to have been involved in the creation of the first two, illustrated yesterday: Gerry McCann, David Payne and Russell O’ Brien. Where? In apartment 5A. When? Between, say, 11.30 PM- 2AM on the night of May 3/4. More details? Few: only O’ Brien – who’d been seen in possession of them by the Portuguese police – has been questioned about them: that was in 2008 and by then he’d forgotten all about them, even their very existence.
The Third Timeline
This is different from the other two. It is a typed document which, according to David Payne, “represented the views of the whole group”. It was finalised after the first police statements had been given on May 4 but before the second round of questioning on May 10.
The group asked if they could take it into their second interviews so that they could refer to it! The request was refused. So far, so daylight.
Motivation
The possible motivations are numerous and obvious. What is the “innocent” explanation – the one that the participants have given and that, out of fairness, we should accept? There isn’t one – after three and a half years! They will not agree to clarify them or reconstruct the movements they claim to describe. That is the heart of the “why won’t you?” question.
Taking all the evidence together the explanation that is most favourable to the group is that they conspired to stretch the evidence in order to protect themselves against potential accusations of child neglect.
All other credible explanations are less favourable to the group.
Evolution
In group investigations the “first cut is the deepest”: if the first statements are compared with later ones and remain absolutely the same then there is no evolution. If changes occur – natural changes in recollection- they should show a random pattern of disorder, since nobody remembers the same things in the same way.
If, however, changes occur but form a distinctly evolving, ordered pattern leading from initial divergence to close agreement then something is wrong and suspicions of collusion – conspiring to agree false or dubious evidence - rise to red flag level. If the story then remains fixed, with no further development, then its time for people to start seeing their lawyers.
Evolution & the Tapas Nine
There is unmistakeable evolution to convergence in the T9’s evidence, indicating the construction of a timescale to fit supposed events. We cannot bore the reader with all the many examples but will give just one, the very beginning of the evening.
The witness evidence that all nine were at the tapas bar by 8.45, give or take a few minutes,is quite unambiguous. O’Brien’s first timeline is based on what he saw and knew: “8.45 everyone meets at the pool for dinner”. The second, after consultation with Gerry McCann, repeats: “8.45 Pool”. In his first police statement he makes an alteration: he says he went there “around” 8.45 but now says the Payne group were not there. They arrive, he says, five minutes later, 8.50.
David Payne, who helped create the first two timelines, was ahead of the game: he stated that they arrived at the bar at “around” 8.55 – but he hadn’t squared the change with his family: Fiona Payne, a pretty sharp observer who was not involved in the first two timelines, said they left at 8.45 for the two minute journey to the bar. Dianne Webster says “around” 8.45. Not one of the three mentioned meeting Oldfield on the way.
Famous for fifteen minutes
In his statement Oldfield didn’t mention meeting them either but contradicts all three by saying that they arrived at 9PM. Rachael Oldfield agrees with her husband’s timing but she remembers them arriving after Mathew, who had left, apparently on his famous first check of the evening, which fitted in with the early claims of a couple of the group to the police that they were all checking “every fifteen minutes”. Whoops! Fifteen minutes just wasn’t on and the timeline creators knew it. Catch up Mathew! To complete this disarray Jane Tanner stated that her partner O’ Brien - who’d written “8.45, everybody at the pool” - arrived at nine!
The day after those police statements, and after discussions with the group, Payne wrote the third timeline. It is an absurd, as well as a thoroughly dishonest document, which shoehorns these differing recollections into an unsustainable narrative. “Every fifteen minutes”, by the way, is never mentioned again.
And every half an hour was no joke to slot in either. Payne changed the evidence of his wife and mother-in-law to state that they were “on their way” to the bar at 8.55, corroborating this with the previously unmentioned meeting with Oldfield. The vagueness of “on their way” is then turned into farce by the stop-watch precision of “20.57 (!) MO listens...”
Could they explain these changes to the police, though? David and Fiona Payne have still, after three and a half years, not done so. Along with Kate McCann they missed the second round of questions on May 10, leaving elderly Dianne Webster to fend for herself.
Early in her second interview Webster introduced the helpful detail, previously unmentioned, that although the dinner booking was always for 8.30, the whole group “never gathered before 20h45/21h00” due to chronic unpunctuality.
Further on she “recalled” that they had been late because they only managed to get to the Restaurant around 21h00. So far so good. She was asked if she had “crossed paths” with anyone (Oldfield obviously included) on the way. Whoops! She said no.
[A year later, interviewed by the Leicester police she forgot her lines again and fell back on something nearer the truth – arrival at 8.50 or 8.55 – and, perhaps remembering some interesting conversations elsewhere, hastily added "...er and the thing that I didn’t mention at the original interview in Portugal was that I do vaguely remember seeing Matt, he was coming up...” Whoops!]
In his second interview Mathew Oldfield was on the ball about the third timeline arrivals-board, except for Payne’s fictional “8.57 Oldfield listens...” And Jane Tanner too, who had previously remembered nothing about arrivals except O Brien’s lateness, had a giant burst of Recovered Memory Syndrome.
She “recalled” that Oldfield had left “a few minutes before nine”. Oh, and she remembered him talking about it before going, announcing that he was off to hurry the group up and, blimey, she even remembered that “on the way he took the opportunity and looked in on the children’s bedrooms.”
It gets deeper, like hypnosis. Jane Tanner climaxed by “remembering” that Oldfield had passed the Paynes and Dianne Webster on the way and “made a circuit to listen at the apartments”. To be blunt about it – and this applies to most of the other claims - how did she know those things? She didn’t. She is not recalling anything. She is, for whatever reason, attempting to falsely corroborate a friend’s story to the police about which she has no corroborative knowledge. Not for the last time.
A completed work of art – Timeline 3
2030: Standard booking for meal at Tapas restaurant for group - same all week (Sun-Thur)
2035: Gerry McCann (GM) and Kate McCann (KC) arrive at table at Tapas Restaurant.
2040: Jane Tanner (JT) arrives, followed shortly by Matthew Oldfield (MO) and Rachael Mampilly Oldfield (RMO).
2045: Russell O'Brien (RJO) arrives at table.
2055: MO returns to apartments to check on ground floor flats, passing David Payne (DP), Fiona Payne
(FP) and her mother Dianne Webster (DW) on their way down to the table.
2057: MO listens outside all ground floor flats' windows on the car park side of the apartment (5A, 5B and 5D) to make sure they were asleep. At this time, all the shutters were down on each window.
2100: MO return to the table. Starters were ordered.
[Post arrival stuff omitted]
Done – for now
So we see the evolution of a version in progress, the creation of a fictional story that not one of them could have known to be true, from which they never again deviated.
But, you might say, all this fuss about a mere ten minutes? Yes, since it is a vain attempt to fit their purported actions into a bounded timeframe that cannot accommodate them, just as, later in the evening, even with everything shifted along by ten minutes, it couldn’t accommodate the supposed actions of Jane Tanner, Gerry McCann and Mr Abductor: the pieces were moved around the board but as each one was moved, like a board game or a Rubik’s cube, it affected all the others.
When Rachael Oldfield, questioned by BBC after the rogatory interviews, was asked, if “the story” had changed she replied, “no, because there never was a story to change.”
Really?
Do you come here often? Will you be back?

David Payne, well meet.....David Payne
The Police files released August 4th 2008, the Sun twelve days later report on a paedophile named David Payne August 26th , 2008. The Sun claim an 'Exclusive' and I am baffled as to why.
David Payne 'this monster' was released in the Spring to 'roam' the streets and harm our children, surely a bit late in the day for the Sun to give us this Exclusive warning. There is also a photograph of this 'monster' out 'shopping'. So, thanks to the Sun we also now know what he looks like.
At this point the files were new and no one knew how far reaching they would become, if by chance the Gaspar statement did reach some of the publics ears,(and everyone has worked so hard to make sure this did not happen) anyone who was maybe a little curious as to the statements not only of Dr.Katerina Gaspar but Social worker Yvonne Warren Martin.....two women, both professionals and not Joe blogs from the street , would have been taken seriously, both mentioning David Payne and suggesting paedophilia. This must have rocked the McCanns to the core, not to mention the foundations of Gordon Brown and his Premiership.
So, what happened, and I can only lay the blame at the feet of Clarence Mitchell, only he would think of such a ludicrous plan, boy has that man earned his money. If you at this time googled David Payne paedophile, who should pop up......a paedophile named David Payne out shopping. There is also oddly enough a 'magician' named David Paine (not a paedophile)
This also explaining away Social worker Yvonne Warren Martin writing an anonymous letter to the Police asking if there was a paedophile named David Payne registered. There was, but NOT as we can see from the photograph courtesy of the Sun Dr. David Anthony Payne...this may have eased some troubled minds and was an answer, for the moment. Yvonne, however, recognised David Paynes face and not his name at that time ....but, as BLACKSMITH penned yesterday, the McCanns are all about delay tactics and this 'David Payne' for the moment bought them some time and Yvonne was 'Sorted'. The Gaspar statement was easy, 'gag it' and anyone who dares to print even a section of Katerinas words will be sued. Euroweekly news, dared to print a small snippet and had a call from Carter Ruck, they immediately removed it from Online.
Then Dr.Amaral and his bloody book to be published in the English language, all their work and all their gagging orders. Dear God no......
The irony, I believe , to the Gaspar statement and it is only my opinion, is not worth the paper it is written on. Katerinas husband , liked David Payne and did not share her fears, he thought his gestures in poor taste, nothing more. But, this information, in the public domain, will destroy the McCanns and they know it.
For Mitchell to have created such theatrics, at such an early stage, goes to show just how important it is to keep the Gaspar statement well away from British shores.
We have of course also had a DORSET sighting, the only sighting in Britain.

Kids? magician David Payne, 63, got a 12-year sentence for raping an eight-year-old and sex assaults on six other victims as young as four.
But the twisted dad of two was released in the spring after serving eight years.
A risk assessment report drawn up by probation chiefs and psychiatrists warns chillingly: ?Very high risk of harm to children, target group, females three to 16 years.?
Yet when The Sun tracked the pervert, who used his role as an entertainer to gain the trust of parents and kids, he went unchecked as he left his hostel in Boscombe, DORSET.
And families living nearby have not been told he may be a serious threat to their kids.
A probation source said: ?It defies belief that officials can rank Payne as a very high danger to young girls, then release him on to the streets alone where he is surrounded by temptation.
?Payne is always out and about, and no one has a clue what he gets up to once he goes through the front door.?
Devious Payne, of Burton, Wiltshire, attacked kids as he drove them home from birthday parties. He also helped with swimming lessons.
