For Kate McCann any victim will do...
A vigil was to be held in remembrance of Claudia, Kate decided to gate crash and include 'her Maddie'

Yesterday was the 37th birthday of the missing York chef, and her father Peter walked side-by-side with Kate McCann and others, through York, to the service for loved ones who have disappeared.
Mr Lawrence, 64, said the vigil was for all missing people and their relatives, friends and the general public.
Looking back over the two years since his daughter disappeared, Mr Lawrence said he was determined to keep Claudia in the public eye.
“It’s obviously difficult but I made mind up at the beginning of this that that’s what I would do so that’s why I am here,” he said.
“I am told that information is still trickling in. That’s why I’m here saying please give whatever information you have to the police.”
He then led a procession from the Mansion House in St Helen's Square, to the West Doors of the Minster for the Vigil at the high altar, where candles were lit.
On marking Claudia’s birthday, her friend, Suzy Cooper, said: “It’s one of those difficult things, because with it being her birthday you would want her to be there. So maybe we will have a few drinks and just say cheers Claudia.”
Mrs McCann said: “Our daughters are different ages and the circumstances are very different but we share the same pain and fear and hope.
“This is actually the first time I have met Peter, I have been in touch with his wife.
It is nice to be able to support each other because it is one of those things that, unless you have been in that situation it is very difficult to understand.
“The Archbishop, John Sentamu, has also been very supportive. He has never forgotten us.”
Meanwhile, a North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "The investigation into the disappearance of Claudia Lawrence is still continuing, although there have been no major developments.
"We would ask anyone with information to contact us.”

THE father of Claudia Lawrence was joined by missing Madeleine McCann’s mother for a candlelit vigil in York Minster.
The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu said the ceremony was to let people show their support for the families of Claudia Lawrence, Mrs McCann’s daughter, Madeleine and others who had gone missing.

Cached Kate and Gerry. The book now only carries Kates name.
From press release dated 18 November 2010.
Transworld acquires ‘Madeleine’, Kate and Gerry McCann’s personal account of the disappearance and continuing search for their daughter.
“There are several different reasons as to why I finally came to the decision with my husband Gerry to write and publish this book,” said Kate McCann. “This decision has not been an easy one. Many factors needed to be given thorough and careful consideration, not least the impact of such a book on the lives of our three children. My reason for writing is simple; to give an account of the truth.
Publishing this book has been a very different decision and is one that we have taken after much deliberation and with a very heavy heart. However, in the last few months with the depletion of Madeleine’s Fund, it is a decision that has virtually been taken out of our hands.
Every penny we raise through its sales will be spent on our search for Madeleine. Nothing is more important to us than finding our little girl.”
Gerry McCann said: “We are hopeful that this book may help the investigation to find Madeleine in other ways too. Our hope is that it may prompt those who have relevant information (knowingly or not) to come forward and share it with our team. Somebody holds that key piece of the jigsaw.”
Bill Scott-Kerr, Publisher at Transworld, bought the book from the Christopher Little Literary Agency for publication in Spring 2011. All royalties will be donated directly to Madeleine’s Fund – Leaving No Stone Unturned Limited.
Bill said: ‘It is an enormous privilege to be publishing this book. We are so pleased to be joining Kate and Gerry McCann in the Find Madeleine campaign."
The McCanns' Literary Agents, Christopher Little and Neil Blair, said: "We are honoured to be part of this emotive project and to support the McCanns in their search for Madeleine."

McCanns pleaded for paedophiles cooperation...
The parents of missing girl Madeleine McCann have pleaded with a convicted paedophile to "see sense" and cooperate with private investigators dealing with the case.
The McCanns' investigation team wants to interview 64-year-old Raymond Hewlett in the next few days in the hope he can shed some light on their daughter's disappearance from a holiday flat in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in May 2007.
Hewlett is alleged to have been staying near the McCanns' resort flat when she went missing.
UK-born Hewlett, who previously lived in Blackpool and Telford, is reportedly being treated for throat cancer in hospital in the German city of Aachen. He was jailed several times for sexually assaulting young girls and is now wanted for questioning by British detectives in connection with a separate indecent assault.
The McCanns hope that once officers from West Yorkshire Police have questioned the former soldier, their investigators will speak to him, despite reports he is seriously ill in intensive care.
Clarence Mitchell, Kate and Gerry McCann's spokesman, said: "Mr Hewlett has denied any involvement in Madeleine's abduction.
"Our investigators hope he will see sense and co-operate by giving them whatever information needed so they can eliminate him from the investigation.
"It's clear the man is ill and it is clear he has information that our investigators need. It is also clear that our investigators will be speaking to him in the near future."
It is understood that before the McCanns' team can speak to Hewlett, British officers will interview him in connection with an indecent assault in 1975.
Sources close to the investigation say they think both interviews will take place in "a matter of days, not weeks".
The McCanns currently have two retired detectives who they hired to search for their daughter. They hope British police will help facilitate an interview with Hewlett.
But a source with knowledge of the investigation admitted Hewlett was a "private individual" who could "in theory say no" to an interview with the McCanns' detectives.
Yesterday, a spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Police said the force could not go in to details about why British officers wanted to speak to the convicted paedophile.
The spokeswoman added: "We have made contact with the German authorities. We are just waiting for clearance so we can actually go and speak to him regarding that incident."
Questions have been raised about Hewlett's time in Portugal by a couple who met him on holiday.
Alan and Cindy Thompson said the sex offender was living with his wife and six children in a converted Dodge truck travelling from campsite to campsite in the Algarve and southern Spain.
Hewlett allegedly told the Thompsons he was approached by some "Gipsy tourists" offering to buy his daughter just before Madeleine went missing.
They also recalled him mentioning a "business" trip to Morocco, where there were several alleged sightings of the little girl in the months after her disappearance.
Hewlett told the Thompsons he was at a market in the Portuguese town of Fuseta, 30 miles from Praia da Luz, when Madeleine vanished, according to the Mirror.
He reportedly told the couple he had done nothing wrong and they were judging him based on what they knew of his past.
He said: "If you've chosen to believe anything I can't do anything about it anyway, so there you go. Catch 22.
"You're basing it on someone's past, rather. That means the person's past is important. Doesn't make him guilty. You shouldn't be talking to me about it. I've done nothing wrong, nothing, nothing."
It is believed the Thompsons attempted to contact British police with their concerns about Hewlett some time ago but were not successful.
Leicestershire Police, which handled the British end of the inquiry into what happened to Madeleine, refused to comment.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "The disappearance of Madeleine McCann remains a Portuguese investigation. We would pass any relevant information we receive to the Portuguese police."
The McCanns' private investigators yesterday flew back to the UK from Portugal, where they have been chasing up information received from the public since a blaze of publicity around the second anniversary of Madeleine's disappearance.
It is understood the leads include the names of a number of suspects.
Madeleine was nearly four when she went missing from her family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007 while her parents dined with friends nearby.
Despite a massive police investigation and huge publicity worldwide she has not been found.

Who was bugging the McCanns...
Who was listening to Kate and Gerry McCann?
By Jon Clements on Feb 18, 09 02:55 PM in McCann
A few days ago I received an interesting letter from Leicestershire police about the Madeleine McCann investigation.
I had asked them, in July, if they had got any warrants (under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act) to use surveillance powers - such as phone tapping and email interception on behalf of the Portuguese police.
The force initially stalled saying it needed to "consult other Agencies" before replying.
After a six month delay, Leicestershire has now claimed it is exempt from Freedom of Information laws in this case due to "national security".
I've put in dozens of FoI requests to police forces over the years, some you get and some you don't but "national security" is a new one on me.
To make matters even murkier, Leicestershire claimed a second exemption because the information I requested could relate to "the Security bodies".
A quick look at the FoI Act reveals "Security bodies" are MI5, MI6, GCHQ (pictured above), special forces (such as the SAS) and the Serious Organised Crime Agency.
Hmm.
Despite claiming these exemptions, Leicestershire seem at pains to neither confirm nor deny they hold any information relevant to my request anyway.
Check out (slowly I suggest) the tortuous conclusion to the three page letter explaining their stance.
"It is our decision that the Leicestershire Constabulary must maintain a position of neither confirming nor denying that any relevant information is held and that this response, which neither confirms nor denies that information is held, should not be taken as conclusive evidence that the information you have requested exists or does not exist".
Thanks, but I think that is a rather long-winded way of saying Foxtrot Oscar.
However, it does beg the question just who was bugging the McCanns after they returned from Praia da Luz?
And what has the answer got to do with national security?

So why did Madeleine McCann detectives ask so few questions after major breakthrough?

Missing: Madeleine McCann vanished in May 2007
The detectives failed to make even rudimentary inquiries before announcing a ‘significant’ development in the worldwide search for the six-year-old.
At a Press conference in London, lead investigator David Edgar appealed for help in finding a ‘bit of a Victoria Beckham lookalike’ whom a British tourist saw looking agitated outside a dockside restaurant in Barcelona three days after Madeleine disappeared.
Retired Cheshire Detective Inspector Mr Edgar said it was possible that Madeleine had been smuggled into the Spanish port by yacht from the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz, where she vanished on May 3, 2007.
The agitated woman, thought to be Australian, made a remark to the tourist which suggested she was waiting for the arrival of a child.
Mr Edgar, 52, told the 50 journalists from several countries: ‘It’s a strong lead. Madeleine could have been in Barcelona by this point. The fact the conversation took place near the marina could be significant.’
As a result of his appeal for information and the issuing of an e-fit image of the woman, the search switched to Australia, where a woman in Sydney made a statement to police claiming to know the identity of the mystery female seen in Barcelona, although this apparently came to nothing.
The Mail on Sunday, however, has established that members of Mr Edgar’s team who had visited Barcelona:
- Failed to speak to anyone working at the seafood restaurant near where the agitated woman was seen at 2am.
- Failed to ask the port authority about movement of boats around the time Madeleine disappeared.
- Failed to ask if the mystery woman had been filmed on CCTV.
- Knew nothing about the arrival of an Australian luxury yacht just after Madeleine vanished until told by British journalists, who gave them the captain’s mobile phone number.
- Failed to interview anyone at a nearby dockside bar where, according to Mr Edgar, the mystery woman was later seen drinking.
- Failed to ask British diplomats in Spain for advice before or during the visit.
Last night Mr Edgar said: ‘We are not above criticism and I take responsibility for any shortcomings. If somebody has not done what they should have done, that’s my job to deal with that.’
Conversation: The bar belonging to Jose Luiz Lopez where the key conversation between a tourist and an Australian woman allegedly took place
According to the Find Madeleine Fund website, ‘the majority of the fund money has been and continues to be spent on investigative work to help to find Madeleine’.
The McCanns, doctors living in Rothley, Leicestershire, originally hired Barcelona-based detective agency Metodo 3 to look for Madeleine in 2007 as they were convinced that Portuguese police had given up the search.
Metodo 3 reportedly charged £50,000-a-month and its director, Francisco Marco, was criticised after making a series of boasts about his team’s ability to find Madeleine.
In December 2007, he caused a sensation by claiming he knew who had kidnapped her and hoped to have her home by Christmas.
Metodo 3’s six-month contract ran out in January 2008, although it has continued to help with the search.
The Mail on Sunday’s inquiry by a Spanish-speaking reporter in Barcelona last week has exposed worrying gaps in the British detectives’ strategy, including failure to question several people who might have vital information.
Appeal: Clarence Mitchell, left, and David Edgar with their e-fit of the 'Victoria Beckham lookalike'
mystery woman was seen, said: ‘The private detectives did not make any enquiries at my restaurant.
‘I am almost always here when the restaurant is open and my staff would have informed me if anyone had approached them about such an important matter. You are the first person to ask about this Australian woman.’
The manager of the bar next door, Kennedy’s Irish Sailing Club, where the woman was later seen drinking, said: ‘You are the first person to ask about this Australian woman or the Madeleine case. If someone came into the bar asking questions about Madeleine, I would hear about it very quickly.’
Barcelona port director Joan Guitart said: ‘Nobody has been here asking questions about Madeleine or this Australian woman. This is the first I have heard about any possible link to the port. We would be happy to help the investigation in any way possible.’
Riddle: Was Madeleine taken to Barcelona marina?
‘The footage is not available, as it was over two years ago that this conversation is said to have taken place. But I would have expected anyone carrying out the investigation to at least have asked about it.’
A source at the British Embassy in Madrid said: ‘The detectives did not inform us or the consulate in Barcelona that they were coming to Spain, nor request any assistance in their investigation.’
Jewellery designer Hannah Tait, 35, from London, who lives on a 34ft yacht yards from El Rey de la Gamba, said: ‘This place is like a small village so news travels very fast.
Nobody has been here asking about Madeleine or the Australian woman.
‘The first I heard was when I read about this on the internet. If someone had been investigating something so important here in the port, I would have heard about it.’
A Barcelona-based private detective with more than 20 years’ experience of missing persons cases said: ‘I cannot understand why the Madeleine detectives would have released this story and e-fit to the public without first making their own investigation in the port.
‘It beggars belief that they did not even speak to the owner of the restaurant or the port authorities.’
Identified: The Mail on Sunday discovered Rhonda Wyllie's yacht Willpower was in the marina at the vital time in 2007
Later, The Mail on Sunday gained access to port records for the key dates of May 6 and 7, 2007.
They revealed that nine boats arrived in the marina in the 48-hour period, only one of which was unfamiliar to harbour authorities.
It was the £6million Sunseeker powerboat Willpower, owned by the Australian multi-millionairess Rhonda Wyllie.
When the then captain of the boat was eventually found, he said he had not been approached by any British detectives.
Although he has since been contacted by Mr Edgar’s team, the investigators are in the embarrassing position of having to explain why it was left to reporters to discover the boat’s presence in Barcelona and trace its former captain.
There is no suggestion that Mrs Wyllie, widow of property tycoon Bill Wyllie, is connected in any way with Madeleine’s disappearance.
The Barcelona stage of the inquiry was led by Mr Edgar’s assistant, former Merseyside Detective Sergeant Arthur Cowley, and an interpreter.
Mr Cowley, 57, is sole director of Alpha Investigation Group, based in Flintshire, North Wales. He declined to discuss the details of his visit to Barcelona.
Asked last night why Mr Cowley and his colleague had not spoken to the port authorities, Mr Edgar said: ‘My instructions were that they couldn’t get through security at the marina at the time. I’ve got to take that at face value. We are a small team. We are dealing with finite resources and will have to manage with that.’
He said Mr Cowley’s company had no connection with the Madeleine investigation. ‘I am employed by the McCann family and I pick my staff,’ he added.
Madeleine was nearly four when she disappeared from a holiday flat while her parents dined with friends in a nearby restaurant.
Last night the McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: ‘The private investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance is being conducted entirely professionally and thoroughly under the direction of Dave Edgar.
In the dark: Jose Luiz Lopez, the bar owner who was not spoken to by private detectives
‘This included identifying the exact marina where the witness had been and all relevant locations within it. At that stage, the precise bar involved had not been identified by the witness. Nevertheless, inquiries were conducted at a number of bars, with staff members being interviewed.
‘However, not all of the bars were open during the investigators’ visit. Because of the transient nature of bar work, it was also found that many of the workers who were spoken to were not present at the marina in May 2007.
'Other relevant personnel in the area were also interviewed, although we will not
discuss the detail of who was spoken to for operational reasons.
‘The information, once gathered, including photographs, was brought back to the UK for witness confirmation. Both British and Portuguese police were kept fully informed of the investigators’ visit to Spain.
‘The news conference was then held for the simple reason that public assistance was needed once the e-fit had been drawn up from the witness account. The public appeal does not preclude further enquiries being conducted in Barcelona as appropriate.’
He declined to say how much the private detectives were being paid, adding: ‘We will not discuss contractual matters concerning the investigation costs nor the investigator remuneration.’

McCann Blackmailers ..from 2008
McCann's Blackmail £1/2 Million from Express Newspapers!

Greedy celebrity blackmailers and child neglectors, Kate and Gerry McCann |
UK - Greedy celebrity blackmailers and child neglectors, Kate and Gerry McCann today extorted £550,000-00 from Richard Desmond's Express Newspapers Group.
The Daily Express said on its front page today that it was publishing an apology because it accepted that "a number of the articles in the newspaper have suggested that the couple caused the death of their daughter Madeleine and then covered it up".
The paper acknowledged that there was "no evidence whatsoever to support this theory" and that the McCanns were "completely innocent". The Daily Star said that it was apologising "wholeheartedly".
Well as both Kate and Gerry McCann are still refusing to answer Questions from the Portuguese Police, and the inconsistencies of the stories from the Tapas 9 has lead to BOTH Kate and Gerry McCann being named as suspects by the Portuguese police investigating the disappearance of their daughter, allegedly from the holiday flat where they left her and their other two two children without a baby sitter whilst they went out for a meal.
Come on Kate and Gerry, if the Express Newspapers will not dare take you down in the courts, because they will not risk losing any more readers, the Bastard will. We look forward to making you answer all those questions the Portuguese police want to under oath and subject to the laws of perjury. Live by the sword die by the sword.
If you were not Doctors, then social services would have taken your other children into care for child neglecting. Remember that.

The couple, who had callously declined the services of the resorts child minding services, which are free and said to be amongst the best in the holiday industry, and left their children alone in their apartment whilst they went to dinner with friends at a tapas bar.
If the McCann's were not doctors, but say unemployed working class couple, or black their other children would have been taken into care for neglect by social services, and quite right too. It is only because the McCann's are middle class and doctors that social services will not move against them.
We at the Bastard are utterly fed up with the media indulging the McCann's. The Media should be asking them the forty questions that Kate McCann refused to answer when put by the Portuguese police. Their refusal to answer those forty questions, put them back in the frame for knowing more than they revealed to the Portuguese police.
Just what is it that Kate McCann is hiding, and why are the McCann's being given political top cover?
By failing to push that issue the media is at worst colluding with the murderers of Madeleine McCann.
Questions need to be asked, like why kidnap a three year old? It would be much easier to kidnap the one year olds, who would have no memory of their name or identity.
It has been claimed that Madeleine McCann was kidnapped to order. It is a fact that almost all kidnappings are for ransom, and there has been no hint of a ransom demand.
Oprah is due to spend a day in the UK with Gerry and Kate and their four-year-old twins Sean and Amelie.
The sycophantic show will be aired in the United States on May 4, the day after the anniversary of Madeleine's disappearance and will be syndicated to 144 countries.

We will have to weather the storm as the McCanns are happy now for any idiot to come forth with any scenario, just so long as they can get publicity for their up and coming book of deceit. There is so much happening in the news and the question has become, the McCanns?...' who, oh you mean that kid who disappeared, did'nt the parents have something to do with it ?' and that will never do not if you want a best seller on your hands.
Hellooooo...what planet are these people on ????, do they not know that it was the McCanns themselves who claim Madeleine was taken by a paedophile. Kate McCann was joyous, when she heard of Jaycee being found after having been raped...because she knew she keep keep this game going for years ....The McCanns need a dose of truth syrum, great shame it is not part of the British law for parents who claim they are not involved in the disappearance of their children..Time wasters..
Isn't it enough that they have lost their daughter without putting thoughts of her being with a paedophile ring into their minds how cruel is that????

A DNA sample can consist of blood, hair roots or a mouth swab, all of which contain the DNA of the individual. An analysis of the DNA sample is undertaken and a profile made, which will appear as a numeric code on the National DNA Database.
AND the difference is.. The McCanns working with Gamble and the Goverment to collect DNA for an abducted child....BUT either way the object was to collect DNA.

Child ID program offered Amber Alert
May 6, 2009
Parents can take their children to the gatehouse at the Maryland Correctional Training Center Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. to participate in the Maryland Masonic Child ID Program (MdCHIP), according to a Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services press release. Families will leave with digital photographs, video, fingerprints, vital child information and an oral DNA swab. All but the DNA will be burned onto a compact disc that is compatible with the Amber Alert system should a child turn up missing, according to the release.
Madeleine s DNA...
Front page news on almost every British newspaper, it's interesting to know with more detail what the scientists from Forensic Science Service told Portuguese police, on September 4, 2007, a few days before Gerry and Kate McCann were named "arguidos."
According to a document from FSS, signed by Mr. J.R. Lowe, analysis to the samples collected at the boot of the Renault Scenic produced a complex Low Copy Number DNA result which appeared to have originated from at least three people. Madeleine's DNA profile had 19 elements, each one represented by a peak on a chart, explains Mr. Lowe.
As Madeleine has inherited a same DNA component from both parents, the number of peaks in the chart is 19, instead of 20. Those 2 components appear, in the chart, as only one peak.
The FSS document states that of those 19 components, 15 are present within the result of the analysis to that specific sample. But the total number of components is 37, because there are at least three contributors, may be up to five, in the sample.
Mr. J.R. Lowe's opinion was that the result is too complex to have a meaningful interpretation or conclusion.
But, concerning the question asked, when the samples were sent to FSS – if it could be or not Madeleine's DNA – the FSS scientist admits that it would be very simple to say yes, because of the number of components, within the sample, that are also present in Madeleine DNA profile – 15 over 19.
However, as Mr. J.R. Lowe emphasizes, in the mentioned document, the scientists need to consider if the match is genuine and legitimate. Meaning, to be sure if either Madeleine's DNA was deposited in the car or if the result matched Madeleine's DNA just by chance.
To explain in more detail this question, the FSS scientist reminds that individual components of Madeleine's DNA are also present within the profile of many of the scientists that work in the Birmingham laboratory. Mr. Lowe even refers to his own DNA profile, as an evidence of that.
As the sample analysed has a mixture of elements from more than two persons, it is not possible, according to the FSS expert, to determine or evaluate which specific components pair with each other. Another difficulty mentioned is the fact that it's not possible to separate the components out into three individual DNA profiles.
As a conclusion, Mr. J.R. Lowe wrote that he could not answer the question if the partial match was genuine or just a chance match.

April 2009 'Its illegal, STOP it'

"The DNA data of around 5 million people is stored on our national DNA database," Grayling says in his article published on Comment is Free today. "Almost one in 10 of the population and a substantial proportion of those people have never been convicted of any crime ... Much of that data will be stored indefinitely - often against the wishes of those whose data it is

That is an unacceptable extension of what is increasingly becoming a surveillance society."

Meanwhile it has emerged that police in the Torbay were warning back in 2008 that vulnerable children were at risk of sexual exploitation in the popular seaside resort.
The former police commander Chris Singer said there was 'a ready route' to exploitation for vulnerable teens.
He said the issue at that time was not widespread but police had intelligence suggesting girls could be getting involved with drugs and engaging in underage sex with adults to fund their habits.

Talk of the McCanns involvement Aug 21st 2007, something needed to take the heat off..yes why not lets involve the Bigley family and talk about abduction...
Madeleine's parents meet with Ken Bigley's brother to discuss abduction agony
By SAM GREENHILLLast updated at 06:59 21 August 2007
Madeleine McCann's parents have drawn comfort from an emotional meeting with murdered hostage Ken Bigley's brother, it emerged yesterday.
Phil Bigley spent several hours with Kate and Gerry McCann in Praia da Luz talking about the trauma of having a loved one abducted.
Mr Bigley is the younger brother of Ken, the British engineer who was snatched in Iraq by Al Qaida in 2004 and later beheaded on camera.

Although a very different situation, the McCanns are said to have been greatly buoyed by speaking to his brother about the stresses and strains of their respective ordeals.News of the meeting came as police in Portugal stepped up their hunt for four-year-old Madeleine, who vanished from the Mark Warner Ocean Club resort as her parents ate tapas in a nearby restaurant.
Four-year-old Madeleine disappeared 110 days ago
Detectives are believed to be checking out a theory that Madeleine's disappearance was the result of a botched burglary, after several reported break-ins in the area.Phil Bigley, 52, is on holiday with his family in the Algarve and made the approach to the McCanns last Saturday.
A source close to Mr Bigley said: "Phil really feels for the McCanns and what they are going through.
"Obviously he hopes there is a happy ending to their ordeal, unlike how it was for him and his family.
"But he knows how much talking helps and he thought he could offer some support. It was an emotional meeting for both parties.
"He also knows what it's like to be in the media spotlight during a very difficult time."
Mr McCann, a 39-year-old consultant cardiologist, wrote on his Internet blog:
"We had a British visitor who came to offer us a different type of support.
"He has been through an ordeal similar to ours involving one of his family.
"It was good to talk about our emotions, the pressures and different coping strategies that we use in an ongoing trauma, with someone who has experienced a tragic event like ours."
Gerry and Kate, also 39, are even said to have experienced renewed hope for Madeleine from their discussion with Mr Bigley, who like Mrs McCann is from Liverpool.

British hostage was Ken Bigley was beheaded by his captors
A friend of the couple said: "The Bigley situation is obviously different but even so they found talking to him very comforting."Gerry felt he could talk openly and candidly, and found it has given him renewed hope and encouragement.
"It gave him the feeling that he is not the only one to go through an ordeal like this."
Madeleine has now been missing for 110 days and police in the Algarve are reported to be at a "critical" stage of their inquiries.
Portuguese newspapers are claiming that this week will be decisive, without spelling out why.
Police have secured warrants to carry out further searches around Praia da Luz, and are also planning to re-interview several potential witnesses.
Yesterday the officer leading the investigation, Guilhermino Encarnação, arrived at Portimao police station from headquarters in Faro.
It is by no means certain that detectives are close to any sort of breakthrough however, and they rarely comment on the case because of Portugal's strict "secrecy of justice" laws.
Among those whom Portuguese police want to interview is Pamela Fenn, 73, an expat who suffered a break-in at her apartment in the same block as the McCanns' holiday flat.
Another British holidaymaker, Ian Robertson, from Neyland in Pembrokeshire, South Wales, said he too was burgled at the Ocean Club complex, in February.
The thieves entered the property at dusk and stole two mobile phones, a camera and some money.
Mr Robertson said: "I have a feeling there has been a lot of this type of opportunistic burglary.
"It wouldn't surprise me because it's so wide open, so unprotected - could there have been an order to snatch a child?"
Portuguese police are still awaiting the results of tests carried out on blood found in the apartment where the McCanns were staying when Madeleine vanished.
Tests are being carried out at the Forensic Science Services in Birmingham, which said yesterday the analysis was still "ongoing".
There are also unconfirmed reports that a new suspect is under surveillance in the UK.
Mr and Mrs McCann are starting to think about returning to the UK with their two-year-old twins, Sean and Amelie.
The family's spokeswoman said: "They are starting the process of thinking about coming home, but they haven't made any decision yet."
She stressed this was not a reaction to the "hurtful" allegations in the Portuguese press in recent weeks suggesting that Madeleine was dead and her parents could be involved.

After watching and after the marking of the scent of corpse in your bedroom beside the wardrobe and behind the sofa, pushed up against the sofa wall, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
44. When the sniffer dog also marked human blood behind the sofa, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
45. When the sniffer dog marked the scent of corpse coming from the vehicle you hired a month after the disappearance, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
46. When human blood was marked in the boot of the vehicle, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
47. When confronted with the results of Maddie’s DNA, whose analysis was carried out in a British laboratory, collected from behind the sofa and the boot of the vehicle, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
48. Did you have any responsibility or intervention in your daughter’s disappearance?
A QUESTION SHE DID ANSWER
Q. Are you aware that in not answering the questions you are jeopardising the investigation, which seeks to discover what happened to your daughter?
A. ‘Yes, if that’s what the investigation thinks.’
Vetting and Barring Scheme...This article by no means tells us where the remains of Madeleine McCann are, in fact Madeleine is not mentioned at all. However, the Soham murders were used shamelessly by the Goverment to press forward an already ongoing project. I believe the McCanns in exchange for their ' second chance at life with only two children' were eager to become part of this scheme. Gerald McCann loves the sound of his own voice and from all appearances wanted to become a politician , he almost made it but something went wrong...they did not become the Ambassadors for an EU American Amber Alert...and thankfully Labour lost the election...had they won, who knows the powers the McCanns may have had bestowed on them ?

The reality is that the government shamelessly politicised the Soham tragedy to set in motion a set of child-protection measures that the state was already developing.
AND we all know the McCanns allowed Madeleine their daughter, to be used to create a 'paedofrenzy...!!!! What kind of people does that make them...?

JULY 5th 2007 Mumsnet rolled out the GUNS and stopped the McCanns 'Campaign' of frightening children at the cinema..
On Sunday, because it was raining, I took my daughter to the cinema. It was only her third trip: Shrek the Third was a U, and the critics all agreed on its overwhelming, stultifying blandness. Perfect. My daughter was sitting up straight, mouth full of popcorn, when the lights went down. As we watched the ads for computer games and people-carriers, I could feel her vaccuuming it all up: the dark, the volume, the extraordinary size of the pictures.
Then the screen was filled with a child’s face. There was absolutely nothing I could do. My daughter stopped eating as the story of Madeleine McCann’s abduction was relayed. The word “snatched” was used. My daughter looked up at me, astonished. “Who snatched that little girl?” she asked.
The Find Madeleine ad finished. An ad for a processed cheese began. Over the clamour, I did my best to explain. A little girl had got lost.
Everyone was looking for her. Her parents missed her very much. I said it was very sad and everybody hoped she would come home soon. Then Shrek started. It wasn’t scary at all. Afterwards, my daughter didn’t mention the little girl. But at midnight she appeared in our room, sobbing, saying that she’d had a nightmare (an unusual event). The following morning, she asked me: “Have the police found the little girl yet?”
