One does not need to be a hot shot lawyer to see where Gonçalo Amaral's lawyer is going with his media coverage and why the McCanns are spinning like tops....in a court of law they claim.
£215,000 each for emotional distress
They say they suffer 'permanent anxiety, insomnia, lack of appetite, irritability and an indefinable fear'.
The writ also says Kate McCann is 'steeped in a deep and serious depression'.
HOWEVER, we have all been reminded today and Amaral's lawyer will question the McCanns (if they show) why they refused to carry out the reconstruction and when given the opportunity for the case to remain open they let the time pass... why the above symptons were not felt for their daughter from the moment she disappeared.....surely these feelings would have been more appropriate at the loss of their daughter to a paedophile than a book written by his client. AND more importantly why are they accusing his client of stopping the search for their daughter when they themselves have obstructed the investigation every step of the way ?
